About me: I am a native South Carolinian, born and raised in Charleston. I have two grown children and enjoy spending time outdoors with family and friends. I’ve worked from the east coast to the Midwest working in the pharmaceutical industry, Inpatient Hospital systems, and Outpatient Diabetes Centers. I am a recent graduate of Rhema Bible Training College with a diploma in Pastoral Ministries.

Medical Background: In 1989, I received my nursing degree from the University of South Carolina and started my career at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. I transitioned to Visiting Nurse Health System where I worked many years in Atlanta’s most impoverished areas as a Home Health Nurse and was later promoted as a Clinical Nurse Liaison. In 2002, I returned to SC as a Nurse Manager and Research Coordinator at the Medical University of SC for two ongoing research projects related to diabetes. In 2006, I became a Nurse Diabetes Educator for an extensive diabetes grant that afforded the opportunity to work with Franklin C. Fetter and many of its sites, as well as community centers and senior centers, offering group and individual Diabetes Education to underserved populations. During that time, I became a Certified Diabetes Educator, and in 2020 became an insulin pump trainer. I have returned to SC to provide Diabetes Education in the Aiken community.
