National Community Health Center Week

RHS EVENTS

National Health Center Week (August 7 – 13) is an annual celebration with the goal of raising awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers over the past five decades. Community Health Centers serve as the beacon of strength, service, and care in their communities. In moments of pain and loss, they offer support and love. In moments of triumph, they offer hope and a vision for the future. Let’s come together this week to celebrate the roles Community Health Centers have played in both our recent moments of loss and triumph. From the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Community Health Centers began finding innovative ways to provide preventative and primary care to their patients. RHS has coordinated celebrations for each corresponding day to showcase the innovative ways that we are providing high-quality health care, improving health outcomes, and narrowing health disparities. We are so excited to celebrate this week with you!

  • MON: Healthcare for the Homeless
  • TUES: Agricultural Worker Health Center
  • WED: Patient Appreciation
  • THU: Stakeholder Appreciation
  • FRI: Health Center Staff Appreciation
  • SAT: Children's Health

HEALTHCARE FOR HOMELESS DAY

RHS and ten other partners will be at Gyles Park on August 8th providing HIV testing, COVID-19 testing, diabetes education, haircuts, beard trims, job opportunities, hygiene kits, snack bags, hot dogs, hamburgers, and more. We aim to meet the basic needs of people without homes, eliminate health disparities, and end homelessness.

CELEBRATE WITH RHS

Can’t make it to one of our events? Join us in celebrating NHCW 2022 on social media. We encourage our entire community to share our events on social media and spread the word about what we are doing this week. Tag us in all your photos and remember to use the hashtags #NHCW2022 and #ValueCHCs in your posts.

BACK TO SCHOOL BASH

RHS will be giving away 240 free book bags to patients of our facilities. Each bag will be packed with pencils, markers, pens, highlighters, folders, gluesticks, notebooks, tape, crayons, scissors, and more. We will also have free back-to-school haircuts from the Aiken School of Cosmetology and a face painter on site. We hope to see you there!
